Here in Utah the separation of church and state is non existant. The LDS Chusrch or as it’s members here call it “The Church” ignored the constitution yet again and “weighed” in on a proposal to remove malt beverages like Smirnoff Ice and Mikes Hard Lemonade from grocery stores. Presumably for the children. I don’t really care where they sell that stuff. I just find it funny that when I read the comments local paper I see letter after letter how the rest of the country is bigotted agains Mormon’s every time Mitt “Flip” Romney doesn’t win a caucus.. What a bunch of crap. People don’t vote for him A.) he is as described by U.S Representative Barney Frank “The real Romney is clearly an extraordinarily ambitious man with no perceivable political principle whatsover. He is the most intellectually dishonest human being in the history of politics.” and B.) The LDS Church “weighing” in on every political decision shows who would be calling the shots if that twit were to ever get elected.

That said Mitt could announce that he had cloned Hitler to be his running mate, club harp seals at the Superbowl halftime show, declare war on China and still win Utah.

BTW, the forum is now live at The Church Of The Big Ring. Go forth and multiply.

I just hate how everyone thinks if you have one beer with dinner that you are “f**^d up” cause they have never had a beer in their life and you are going to turn into this raging drunk. Last time I went to the doctors he told me to drink one beer a week at least for my heart. Also didnt Jesus drink wine at the last supper and pretty frequently? Utah shoots itself in the foot when trying to make this state a tourist destination too. And just because someone enjoys a glass of wine does not make them out of control or someone you wouldnt want to be around!

I think they’re just trying to figure out how to pedal the alcohol themselves. Isn’t it somehow about money?

As far as I know, they do pedal the alcohol themselves. Or at least their “non profit” org benefits heavily from sales. It is funny that as a recovering mormon myself, I get chastised by my fam for riding my bike on Sunday and drinking my occasional sips of wine or nursing a beer over a 2 hour period (ya, I’m that heavy of a drinker!) while they drink their gallons of coke daily and sit around all day Sunday carb-loading for their work week? Then they complain that they have a skinny, in-shape little sis who got the ‘only good genes’ in the family. GOOD HELL! Ok. All done :)

Just kidding. Not quite done. So my fam I think has pretty much come to expect the unexpected from me and may somehow find a way to deal with it. My next surprise for them is going to floor them! No worries. It’s a good surprise.

Utah hasn’t cornered the market on group-think, religiously driven idiocy. News from the S. Carolina primary is every bit as discouraging, with evangelicals determined to vote for a “man of god” despite the fact that the ruling class is responsible for the loss of manufacturing jobs throughout the country. These people have my sympathy, but they have to power to influence their destiny if they would attempt to think for themselves periodically.

I’ve never liked the grocery-store-bought malt beverages before. But, now that they are an issue, I’m headed to Smith’s to kill a case or two of some Super Hard Lemonade!

Who is Mitt Romney? What is going on in South Carolina, and these Evangelical’s you write about (a rock band?).

Art, I just wanted to know where I can buy my beverages now…SOS…send help fast, I am sobering up.

if anyone pedals alcohol, it’s Art or me on a downtown bar tour on the bikes. Peddling alcohol is something the state does. Sometimes if you are smart, you can find wicked great wine for REALLY CHEAP because the state wants to “get rid of it.” I love it when that happens.

as far as the “man of god” dr.x is speaking of, huckabee is right: It is easier to change the constitution to god’s way of thinking.

I’m still island shopping if any of you are interested in living there with me. Bikes, booze and all. One catch: I buy the island, what I say goes!
