Well that was a bust
My summer race season is done. I was going to race Wolf Creek this weekend but since I have spent the majority of the last 5 days in bed with a fever it would be pretty pointless. I had high hopes for this season. My winter went well and I had good fitness coming into the spring. East Canyon went pretty well, and I felt good at the three MTB races I did. I was really looking forward to the June races, Sugarhouse, High Uintas, etc. Oh well they never happened for me. To be honest I have been kind of bored with the road scene lately, same faces, courses, arguments. Racing in the dirt was doing a lot for my burnout but I was still looking for a new challenge. So I got the wild idea to do an Xterra. I have always wanted to learn how to swim, in a former life I was a pretty good runner so why not? It has been fun being on the steep part of the learning curve again. Anyway through a combination of the worst flu I have ever had (and still have) and general work/life stuff I have not run in 2 weeks and have only been swimming and riding a handfull of times. I really want to race Xterra but at this point I am not sure what to do. I am on the downside of the flu (I hope) but still not 100%. I don’t want to overdue it and get sick again. Damn, life would be so much easier if I were a couch potato.

A piece of paper is not a back up system. The worlds richest person is a Mexican? Another reason to never buy a Chrysler product. God hates poor kids.
