Team Camp

Just got back from 3 days of riding in St. George where it was warmer than here but still pretty cold.  Winter sucks.  Skiing used to be my obsession and I loved winter, but now that you pretty much have to work at a resort or be stinking rich to ski I have less enthusiasm for winter.  Well maybe not stinking rich, but with a disproportionate part of my income going to all things bike related something has to give.  Anyway lots of miles in the wind with a good crew.  3-4 hours in the saddle and gourmet meals each night (thanks Ken).  A little Chimay, vino and good people to share it with.  Yup a good weekend for sure.  My gutless car and a 40mph headwind made for a long drive home today, luckily I had good company along for the ride.

Sly says the Train got derailled today.  I guess thats what he calls getting worked on the Gunlock climb.  YAAA!

I have alluded to it in previous posts but now I am dropping all subtlety.  My business dead, my current employer has cut my hours in half, and I need a real job.  If any of you have any leads let me know.

Go to work for the government the insurance is good and in 20 or 30 years you get a check in the mail for all your dedication. The jail is always hiring, and with your degree in about 8 years you may even get up to 45K a year. The cliantel is allways cortious and glad to see you do your job right too.

Fuck the resorts. The industry is wondering why there isn’t the growth they’d like to see, yet keep pushing away customers with their high prices. If I go alpine skiing again, it’ll be at little mom n’ pop resorts like Beaver Mt. and make a weekend trip out of it.

The Gunlock loop is one of my favorite rides.

I’m also in the market for a part-time job while I finish my degree. Let me know if you find something interesting.

I think MS is still looking for the next class of margin staff … nothing good from GS?

Training camp may be one of the greatest things ever, nothing like 4 days with nothing to do but ride your bike, and really that is all there is to do because you are in St. George.
Health care is fun, there is nothing like turning what should be a natural thing-taking care of the sick-into a business. And the results give you such a warm fuzzy feeling inside.
