Instead of worrying about tires, sounds like you should be more concerned about your Mona Vie skirt getting caught in your spokes and causing you to crash.

The Train talking about packing it in for the season, next you’ll be racing single speeds with Ohran and Fox. HTFU for christ’s sake.

Thanks for the edit, now I understand why you may be single in a month, due to the mustache of course. And by the way, worthless without pics.

I thought I was a pussy until I read this entry, and DOC riding single speeds is hardening the f up.

Also bike racers need to start taking measure of their lives more on other things in their life besides race results. I have lost great friends, great girlfriends, great opportunities in life because my only measuring stick was how I did at a race, GET OVER KENTUCKY ALREADY!!

I thought I put the quiting idea to rest a few posts ago? Tires had nothing to do with my crashes. 8 years ago the Michelins were pretty much the only game in town. Now my tires need replacing and there are a few more choices. Fuck, maybe I should give up and race single speed.

Giving up and racing one speed should never be used in the same sentence, shame on you.

You could always give up racing and after you get dumped for you moustache growing contest, do what TBird does: Pocket Pool.

I think there are more than a few pros out there in that field.

Now we know what the real racers do in their off season. Hmmm. Who knew?

I didnt know Art had the “equipment” to even play pocket pool.

If I didn’t have the equipment I would race single speed

Art, race the single speed for State Champs to warm up for the big race. I am getting back on the bike this weekend and hopefully will race then. You can have fun kicking my teeth in.

I know I was a little late with my abuse, since you had a change of heart.

Re tires, I’m going to give the Hutchinson tubeless CX a look see. Same tread pattern as the “tube” version, but I’m thinking they might have a better rim seal running Stan’s than the Michelin’s.

The sewup Tufo Flexus are working pretty good for me. Of course you have all the hassle of sewups, but they’re pretty light on my Reynolds DV46’s.

I think you show get a mustache barred fix geared cx bike, with brakes and a bottle cage and 700×42 commuter tires, and wear a pair of man-pri’s and a black HTFU T shirt in the race on saturday.

Yep, thats what I would do.

If I go to the Portland USGP I might build the Kelly as a one speed. For now I am down to one bike since Frontier broke my damn fork flying back from Lou A Ville. It may be a while before I can replace it.

I think Art just stated he is racing single speed cross worlds in Portland?
