If you didn’t go to Poci this weekend make sure you go next year. Sam Kreig and his crew have a killer venue up there. Hills, run ups, grass, off camber. Pretty much everything you should have in a cross course they have. Good times for sure. Sam is kind of a bad host though since he pretty much kicked everyone but Ali’s ass. Speaking of Ali. Holy crap that dude is amazing. He goes soooo hard at the start and these days he doesn’t blow up after 20 minutes. Just shows you what happens when you stick with something and work hard.
My race went pretty well. I started ok and was in 3rd after the first lap. The 2nd and 3rd laps I had a bit of a rough spot and Reed Wycoff got by me and got a big gap quick. I started to feel better and every time it looked like I was closing the gap he opened it up again. Team Rico was charging behind as well so I had to stay on the gas the whole time. Those 2 guys are hard as nails, pain cave for sure. My form is coming around it seems and I am happy I stayed in the race mentally for the entire hour. Gotta think I am on track for a good race in Kansas City. Wheeler Farm this weekend, good speed training.
