Wake Up, Kick Ass, Repeat

Get your bike on

It is Bike Week in the 801. Lots of stuff going on. I have been doing my part riding to work trying to keep the Soob parked. Tomorrow is the ICUP race at Soldier Hollow, be ready to put out the watts. That afternoon The Bastard Sons of Johnny Cash are playing for free at the Gallivan Center and then the Bicycle Film Fest at The Depot. Who says nothing ever happens in the 801? Oh yeah, that was me.

Can you believe the whole Floyd soap opera? I really wanted to believe him but after LeMond’s testimony yesterday I guess he is a stinking cheat like Tyler. Lemond has no reason to lie, in fact he probably has more to lose by telling the truth.

Did you see Alice crying again yesterday? From Cycling News

“There is no longer respect,” commented Petacchi’s last lead-out man, Alberto Ongarato, to La Gazzetta dello Sport. “If you did something like this in the times of Cipollini or Museeuw, I would want to see how that would end up!”

I got news for you Alice, you are not Cipo or even the doper Museeuw. Just shut up and ride.

I almost forgot, my boss man is bringing us free sammiches from Caputos’s today for us. Lord help me I loves the sammiches.

The one thing I never understood about stage racing was the whole “gifting” of stages? If you want it, earn it. That would never happen in Cross or mtn biking. So the saga goes. Its so WWF wrestling right now in the PRO peleton with racers crying and the court room dramas. Whats happening off the bike is as fun to watch as whats going on, on the bike. But really its pretty sad for cycling. Lemond is ok in my book. I use to call him a cry baby during the Lance era cause I thought he was bitter that the limelight was taken from him, but he was right all along.

Kind of agree with Forrest. Still not sure what all that Armstrong stuff was about. But in this case it sounds like Lemond tried to befriend Landis - and Floyd opens his big mouth. No way he’s going to distance himself from from that jackoff Goeghegan. And this ain’t no normal court where a jury can be intructed to ‘disregard the testimony’ - like that ever works anyway. Can you say “witness tampering.”

I don’t trust Lemond. He seems like an unstable whiner to me. My theory on why he started to ride like crap was that he had an immune reaction to beta-version EPO.

Gotta love a good Caputo’s sandwich. Ask for extra olives and take a bite of one, then take a bit of the other. Doesn’t get much better. Plus, they always have fresh lemon wedges which makes the cost of a Diet Pepsi almost worth the $.

I agree with Darrell. Lemond seems like a whiner who is all to eager to discredit the success of other riders.

I cant resist commenting on the latest quote today.

Arvesen: “I’m sorry for Bettini but I only win once every four years”

Dude why are you sorry? You just beat the world champ fair and square and you feel bad about it? I would be on cloud nine! If you earn it, feel good about it and quit worrying about the other dude. No one feels sorry for me when I get beat.
