Wake Up, Kick Ass, Repeat

Doh!

Another junk show for me today. Course was really good, probably the best one so far. Too bad I only got to race 3 laps. DrX hooked me up with some sweet TuFo sew ups. They work the corners like a $2 hooker and I was digging it big time. The infamous Wheeler goat heads had other ideas. My back wheel picked up a few and I lost about 10psi before the Stan’s kicked in. I made it to my spare bike without losing too much time and was back in the race. I slammed a root by the pond and pinched the rear, game over. This is getting a little hard to deal with mentally. At this point I just need to finish a damn race. DrX if you are reading thanks for the wheels they air holding air just fine now. I am stoked to race them in KC.

Rachel continues to improve and rode to a strong 4th place even after getting lost (tri geeks). Finally met Ms Rammstein, she made it out for her first ever cross race and I think it is safe to say she is now hooked. Rock On!

So you just have to rub in my complete lack of navigational skills. Yep, I see how it is.

No, the real junk show is having all the old guys and the women passing you, that was my race.

Gotta agree, best Wheeler course in a real long time, actually had to turn the bike.

The worst part is that goatheads are not native to North America, I believe they came over with the Euros.

Add some more Stan’s. I don’t think I put any in the front. Like your mom always said, don’t leave home without protection.

Some smart scientist needs to devise a biological countermeasure against goatheads. Since Al Gore has conquered global warming and invented the internet, maybe he’s ready for a real challenge.

Hey Art,
It was good to finally meet you too. Cross is indeed the Sport of Kings. I’m coming back next week to get a matching welt across my other thigh. See you then!

Come to think of it Theresa, I didn’t see any goatheads either. And me, with my tri-geek skills, I’m pretty anywhere but on the trail. Hmmm…perhaps he picked up the 2 goatheads on the trail for us? :)
