Back to Work

OK enough sitting around whacked on pain killers. I am back at the cube farm. Yesterday I went to watch the Sugarhouse Crit. I am just gonna say it right now. Any race that happens while I am injured, I would have won. So that is 2 races just this weekend (Deer Valley and Sugarhouse) that I would have won. By the time I get my cast off I will be the winningest rider in the state. Yaa! Louder showed you can work in the break and win, hopefully someone relayed that to those who missed it. Congrats to Sarge for representin’ FFKR and 40 somethings in the break.

Last night some scum bags in a stolen car did a hit and run in a crosswalk and ditched the car on my street. I think every cop on duty in the downtown area was on my street. Funny how when I call about the drug deals at the playground they don’t even send a car to drive by, but when there is a chance to stand around looking at a parked car for 2 hours talking to their buddies, that requires 7 cars. Nice.

I feel you on the cop thing, dont get me started. Hope the wrist doesnt put a damper on the “Summer of Art”. I got so much going on myself I dont know how much more bike racing I can get in this summer. May do one more then wait for cross season. Maybe you can help me out when the time comes with some training tips.

Here are some cross training tips:

1. Go beat the crap out of yourself with a bat for one hour.
2. Hike from the Cliff Lodge to the tram straight up as fast as you can - meaning run where possible.
3. Drink a lot the night before you do 1 and 2.
4. Practice beer hand ups at finish lines. (Art will gladly be your practice mate)
5. Crash your bike a lot and break things but don’t break yourself. (this one is key for cross)
6. Practice changing out wheels as fast as you can for your flats.
7. Don’t forget your costumes for cheering and/or racing.

That’s all I’ve got for now. More to come later.
