Back To The Rat Race
Sorry for the lack of posts, too much vacation fun means no time online. After Maontauk I made my way to Coney Island to meet up with my two favorite Bostonites Wendy and Alex. After using a text book bump and getting my pocket picked by Alex we went to the Freak Show. It was pretty much what you would exect to see at your local State Fair or traveling circus, dude driving nails up his nose, fire eater, human werewolf, snake charmer.. The highlight was I was picked from the audience to pull the sword out of the sword swallower. So yeah, I am now officially a Freak Show performer. One more line on my life list chacked off. Next up The Cyclone. Roller coasters freaking rock, when it comes to old school wooden roller coasters The Cyclone is king. While we were waiting in line Alex told me to starrt warming up my neck and I kind of laughed at him. I quickly learned he wasn’t kidding. The first drop is a 54 gegree slope with a hard turn shortly after that. My chiropractor would have shit down both legs if he saw me in that thing. It was so cool. There are signs everywhenre telling you to not bring a camera on the ride. I did and got some sweet picks( I will have them up later), Wendy did to and broke her camera. Yaaa! BTW you can see some cool video Ms. Chao shot on prior trips before she broke here camera here.
The whole time we were walking around listening the carnies hawk their wares I am wondering how (and why?) they manage to live in one of the most expensive cities in the world making what can’t be much more than minimum wage. I also thought that only a few miles away the so called masters of the universe on Wall Street are pulling down phone number like salaries. A hell of a town for sure.
more to come….
