5 Things You Probably Don’t Know About Me

Blog Category: Blog — Blogged by: Art on December 27, 2007 at 10:25 pm

1. I have never voted in a presidential election. Our founding fathers were scared to death to let the poor vote so they created the electoral college. Since the 801 is about the strongest Repubican state there is, there is really no point in voting here unless you vote Republican. Also, we have a resident of the White House now that proves how useless your vote really is. For the record I would have voted for Clinton and Bush the first time.

2. I saw “Titantic” in a theatre.

3. In the summer of 2001 I turned $5000 into over $60k trading options on the OEX. In a single trade the week the Iraq War started I lost it all. For what it is worth I have been profitable ever since.

4. Even though I make fun of them, even the hipster dudes in capri pants are cool because they ride a bike. At least they are riding (even if it is just to the coffee shop to smoke and talk about Bergman film’s) and probably some of them will continue to do so after it is no longer “cool”.

5. In the 8th grade I went to see Loverboy in concert. It was the 80’s and I did grow up in Maine so cut me some slack we were lucky to get any concerts.

Except the voting thing, even I didn’t know those things. Don’t worry. I don’t even know who Loverboy is :) Oh and you forgot to tell us who the next five lucky cyclist are to disclose their 5.

I saw them 2 months ago in Tuscon…. one of those multi-band concerts, featuring Marshall Tucker, LB, Kansas and Doobie Brothers. I only went ’cause I got free tickets. They are old. Front man, Mike Reno, still wears the infamous bandana, probably to cover up his bald head. He told me to tell you “hi.” He had a great time partying with you in Maine. Damn it.. now I have one of their songs in my head.

My daughter is 8 and she thinks Loverboy is still a top band. She keeps looking for the full Get Lucky album at Best Buy

A-train:

No need to ask for slack on the apparent love of Loverboy. On the other hand, seeing Titanic in a movie theatre requires some serious begging of forgiveness. I’m proud to say I’ve never seen it.

I too saw Titanic in the theatre, except I walked out and demanded my money back half way through the flick.
