Check out Al Gore’s private jet. I am guessing it does not run on soybeans. What is your carbon footprint Al? Blowhard.

Next week I am going on a canyoneering trip with my brotha from anotha motha Swill and Uncle Dave. I did a similar trip with them over Thanksgiving so it sounds like a pretty fun and harmelss way to spend a few days, right? Then I got the equpment list for the trip:

- Helmet w/headlamp
- Hiking Shoes
- Climbing Harness
- Day Pack w/drybag
- Wetsuit
- Fixed blade knife 8″ blade minimum
- 9mm SIG Sauer P226 w/ 50 hollow point rounds
- GPS with local map detail
- ITT AN/PVS-23 night vision googles
- at least 3 passports of various nationality
- Living Will with DNR clause
- 1 Cyanide Tablet

Not sure if we are going into a slot canyon or Iran at this point. I get the strange feeling John Krakauer will be writing about this trip.

Thank you can I have another?

To the person who signed up for eMusic
via the add to the right, thanks. This site will probably never make a ton of money like John Chow but it does trickle in enough to cover my hosting fees and buy a beer or two every month. Traffic on the site is rising every month which surprises me since I do no SEO or any traffic building techniques. Pretty much all my traffic comes form other blogs (even after Turbo dropped me), and google searches. It always make me laugh when I see the terms people enter in google to get to my site. Some of my recent favs: “man playing with dolls”, “Romney sucks”, capri pants, “dead art”. Fun stuff.

Best riding of the year right now. Spent 3 hours riding sweet Park City single track (a tractor ride as Dirk calls it) yesterday wondering why the ICUP and UCA have all these races starting in March and by August we are pretty much done? ( know LOTOJA was yesterday but that is more about getting the sticker for your SUV than about racing) No worries though, ‘cross starts soon and I will have my hands full and be cursing myself for not training harder.

Romney is full of shit!

He has no opinions of his own, he lies everytime he opens his mouth, but because of where he spends his Sundays (unless he flips on that too) he will carry this state.

A long time reader recently pointed out that my writing has lacked the usual bile and bitterness since I got a girlfriend. So, in attempt to show I have not gone soft I will make fun of an admittedly easy target. The capri pant, foam trucker hat wearing, where were you 3 years ago fixed gear rider.

In the name of Jah WTF is the deal with the stupid narrow bars? The argument for narrow bars is so you can squeeze between cars. Never mind that your bike now handles like a floor buffer, at least you can get your bars into a space that your hips wont fit through. That is why cats have whiskers, so they don’t jam their heads into holes they will get stuck in.

Ever wonder what the world would be like if Freddie Mercury and Elton John started a bike company?

I can only assume his hand is in his pants because in those pants he is not sure if he is a man.

Fruita

Back at the cube farm after a kick ass trip to Fruita. Moab is sooo 10 years ago. If you like riding around on jeep trails go to Moab, if you like single track Fruita owns it. I feel like a real mountainbiker again, the flow is back. Since we arrived on Labor Day we pretty much had the place to ourselves. More later, work is kinda crazy today. Pics here.

Ride Lots

Blog Category: Blog — Blogged by: Art on September 2, 2007 at 3:19 pm

I have some work to do. Yesterday Rachel and I met up with Dirk and Billy for some much needed miles. It was the first ride over 2 hours since May for me, that doesn’t seem possible. I felt like I was dragging the 2005 version of Tommy Boy after a Little Caesars gorge fest. Dirk was rocking the Rainbow fresh from whoopin Euro ass. I kept my poker face on until we peeled off and Rachel towed me home. As sad as my fitness is right now I am sure it will come around in time for a few good ‘cross races. Rachel has me on a regular core workout schedule (twice yesterday) so hopefully my back problems will be a non-factor.

The search for fitness continues bright and early tomorrow as we load up the Suby and head for Fruita. Three days of single track should work wonders on my head, legs and skills. I have never ridden there so I am totally stoked to find the flow and carb up on some sweet full strength Colorado beer after.

Master Snifferson RIP
